Officially released worldwide following a beta phase, the new Explorer Gadget allows trainers to catch Pokémon and spin PokéStops automatically without keeping the app open.
Introducing the Explorer Gadget: A Game-Changer for Pokémon GO Players
Debuting yesterday afternoon in players’ accounts, the Explorer Gadget mirrors the functionality of the physical Go Plus devices, which connect to smartphones to facilitate spinning PokéStops and attempting Pokémon captures on the move. This new in-game item grants a set number of attempts to catch Pokémon and spin stops, with the quantity directly linked to the player’s Trainer Level. For example, a Level 35 player receives 35 opportunities, while someone at Level 64 is allotted 64 tries.
This feature proves particularly valuable during active gameplay sessions and special events such as Community Day, enabling players to engage with the game more conveniently throughout their day. Beyond its primary functions, the Pokémon GO Plus+ device also supports sleep tracking through Pokémon Sleep, offering additional benefits to a player’s in-game partner Pokémon.
