Goncalo Ramos, the 25-year-old Portuguese forward currently at Paris Saint-Germain, has secured a five-year contract with Italian giants AC Milan, the two clubs officially announced. The deal extends through to June 30, 2031, with a reported base value of 74 million euros (approximately $84 million), potentially rising to 90 million euros once bonuses are included, marking a new club record for Milan.

AC Milan, who finished fifth in last season’s Serie A campaign, welcomed Ramos in an official statement, expressing optimism about his future contributions to the Rossoneri squad. The transfer reunites Ramos with fellow Portuguese national and Milan coach, Ruben Amorim, as the player currently represents his country at the ongoing World Cup.

Setting a New Benchmark in Milan’s Recruitment

Ramos’ move eclipses the previous record signing by AC Milan, which was compatriot Rafael Leao’s transfer from Lille in 2019 for 49.5 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. While this is a club record, it remains below the overall Serie A transfer record held by Cristiano Ronaldo’s 117-million-euro transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus in 2018.

Before joining Milan, Ramos spent three seasons with PSG, where he earned two UEFA Champions League titles after arriving from Benfica for 65 million euros. Reflecting on his departure, Ramos shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, describing his time at PSG as a defining chapter of his career and expressing deep gratitude for the privilege of representing the French champions.

He concluded by acknowledging the emotional bond he retains with PSG, stating that although he is leaving, the club will always remain a home to him, symbolizing a lasting connection beyond his tenure on the field.
