In an eagerly awaited event, Brazil is set to host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will commence on June 24th and conclude on July 25th. This tournament will span eight cities, featuring iconic venues such as Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanã and São Paulo’s Arena Corinthians, marking the first time the continent will stage this prestigious competition.

The championship will showcase 32 national teams competing across 64 matches, including the defending champions, Spain, and the powerhouse United States women’s national team, which aims to secure its fifth World Cup title.

Confirmed Participants and Qualification Progress

As hosts, Brazil automatically secured their place in the tournament. Meanwhile, qualification processes have been ongoing worldwide, with ten other countries already clinching spots from four different continental confederations.

From the AFC (Asia), six teams have qualified through the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup: Australia, China PR, Japan, Korea DPR, Korea Republic, and the Philippines. In South America, aside from Brazil, Argentina and Colombia earned their berths by finishing as the top two teams in the CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League.

Europe’s representation includes Germany, which secured qualification by winning a League A group in the UEFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers. Additionally, three more European teams will join the tournament once the league stage concludes, while seven further spots will be decided through upcoming UEFA playoffs.
