Spider-Man: Brand New Day has shattered the domestic box office record within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, overtaking the previous high set by Avengers: Endgame. This milestone was announced following the film’s unprecedented opening weekend performance.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who helmed Avengers: Endgame, took to social media to extend their congratulations to the cast and crew of Brand New Day. In an Instagram post, they acknowledged the passing of the torch by stating, “the gauntlet has been passed,” linking the film’s success to the legacy of the Infinity Saga that culminated in Endgame. The post included striking artwork by digital artist Bosslogic, illustrating Spider-Man adorned with Infinity Stones as rings.
Box Office Momentum and Expanding Reach
Since its release, Brand New Day has maintained robust momentum at the box office, rapidly surpassing the $1 billion mark worldwide in under a week. The film also recorded one of the largest international openings in cinematic history. In response to its strong performance, Marvel and Sony have announced plans to increase the film’s availability in premium formats, starting August 7.
