Among these were adaptations of well-known games such as Flappy Bird, Tetris, and Snake. So far, the only public response has come from The Tetris Company. The organization, co-founded by the original creator Alexey Pajitnov and entrepreneur Henk Rogers, issued a concise yet pointed statement via their official Instagram account.
Tetris Company Clarifies Position on ‘Build the Wall’ Game
In their statement, The Tetris Company emphasized their commitment to unity through gaming, stating, “At Tetris, we believe in the power of connection and bringing people together, not dividing them. To our fans everywhere, we love you, we see you, and we’re grateful to have you in our community.”
They further clarified their lack of involvement with the controversial game titled “Build the Wall,” explicitly noting, “The Tetris Company was not involved in the creation of ‘Build the Wall.’ P.S. We take copyright infringement very seriously.” This response underscores the company’s intent to distance itself from the politically charged project and affirms their vigilance regarding unauthorized use of their intellectual property.
