The 2026 Berlin Open is set to showcase a remarkably strong lineup as the WTA grass-court season kicks off. From June 15th to June 21st, the Rot-Weiss Tennis Club will host nine of the world’s top ten female tennis players, underscoring the tournament’s status as a key preparatory event ahead of Wimbledon.
Leading the charge are World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and No. 2 Elena Rybakina, who have been seeded first and second respectively in the 28-player singles draw. Joining these top contenders is No. 7 Coco Gauff, who is aiming to fine-tune her game on grass courts before heading to the All England Club.

The tournament’s roster is further strengthened by former Berlin champion Jessica Pegula and the recently crowned French Open champion Mirra Andreeva, adding considerable depth to the women’s competition. The official singles draw will be revealed on Friday, June 12th, setting the stage for intense battles on grass.
However, the Berlin Open’s appeal extends beyond singles action. The doubles event will feature a notable return, as Serena Williams accepts a wildcard entry to compete alongside her partner Karolina Muchova in the 16-team doubles draw.
Serena Williams Returns for 2026 Berlin Open Doubles
Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam champion, recently made a comeback on grass courts at Queen’s Club, though her doubles campaign there was abruptly ended due to a knee injury suffered by her partner, Victoria Mboko. Mboko was also expected to participate in Berlin this year, but her current status remains uncertain.
