Franco Colapinto will remain with Alpine through the 2027 Formula 1 season, having secured a contract extension that confirms his place alongside teammate Pierre Gasly for a third consecutive year. The Argentine driver, who debuted in F1 at the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix with the Flavio Briatore-led team, has solidified his position within the squad as it continues to develop its competitiveness.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the renewal, Colapinto remarked on the team’s development during the current season. “I am very pleased to remain with this team in 2027,” he stated in the official announcement released on Friday morning Eastern Time. “I feel very happy and very settled here and it’s been even better that we have made significant progress this year compared to last.”

He highlighted the team’s ongoing efforts to enhance performance, emphasizing the collective ambition. “We have a lot more milestones to reach and I know the team is working so hard in finding performance and making the car better and better,” Colapinto added.

So far in the season, Colapinto has accumulated 19 points in the Drivers’ Championship, demonstrating his growing impact on the grid. Looking ahead, he reaffirmed his commitment to the team’s objectives: “Our long-term goals are obvious – to compete and win – and I am grateful to the team, Flavio and Steve, for the trust placed in me to be one of its drivers going into the future. I’m looking forward to seeing how everything plays out and focusing on my job on-track first and foremost.”
