Manchester City has officially secured the services of 22-year-old Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras, signing him on a five-year contract. This addition marks City’s sixth acquisition during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Having emerged from Palmeiras’ youth academy, Elias has accumulated 96 first-team appearances before attracting interest from the Premier League giants. The transfer fee is reported to be around €40 million (approximately $47 million), reflecting the club’s confidence in his potential impact.

Hugo Viana, City’s Director of Football, expressed enthusiasm about the new signing, stating, “Allan is a really exciting player, and we think he will be a big addition to the squad. He has shown throughout his short career so far that he will fight to be the best he can be.”

Joining a Growing Roster

Allan Elias joins a group of recent signings including Elliot Anderson, Geronimo Rulli, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Jeremy Monga, and Pierce Charles, who have all become part of Manchester City’s expanding squad this summer.

Expressing his feelings on the transfer, Elias remarked, “This is a surreal moment for me. Manchester City, with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players.”

“To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life. I love Palmeiras and always will — but the decision to come to City was an easy one,” he added.

Born in Florianopolis, Elias aims to continue the tradition of successful Brazilian players at Manchester City, aspiring to follow the footsteps of club heroes like Gabriel Jesus, Ederson, and Fernandinho, all of whom have lifted Premier League trophies with the team.
