The upcoming 2026-2027 season will mark the final chapter in a long-standing partnership with German sports brand Adidas as the official supplier of match balls for the UEFA Champions League. This season’s league phase is set to kick off this week and will culminate on June 5, 2027, with the final scheduled at Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium.

Throughout the league stage, which comprises eight matchdays and concludes in January 2027, a new Adidas ball will be introduced to symbolize the prestige and excitement surrounding Europe’s premier club football tournament. This fresh design aims to capture the spirit of the competition as it embarks on its latest campaign.

Distinctive Balls for Men’s and Women’s Competitions

Alongside the men’s tournament, the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2026/27 will also feature its own uniquely designed official ball. The women’s competition begins on September 22 and will reach its conclusion in Warsaw in May. The ball’s design creatively embodies the “Ring of Light” concept, highlighted by the competition’s signature ring of eleven stars—each representing a player on the field. This motif stands as a strong emblem of unity, teamwork, and shared ambition.

The visual identity of the women’s ball communicates speed and vitality, evoking the energy of a new era in the sport. A dynamic graphic treatment gives the impression of the ring of stars moving fluidly across the ball’s surface. Its vibrant color palette incorporates shades of purple, accented with gold and orange details, all set against a white background. Metallic silver finishes add further depth and sophistication to the design.

New official Champions League matchball set for premiere this week

For the men’s Champions League, the ball predominantly features a white base enhanced with a metallic finish, which lends additional texture and dimensionality. This new design continues to reflect the competition’s high standards and the evolution of its visual identity as it approaches a new season.
