Noah Centineo is set to take on the iconic role of John Rambo in the upcoming prequel, which explores the character’s experiences during the Vietnam War. Although Sylvester Stallone has embodied Rambo in every previous installment and serves as an executive producer for this new film, Centineo revealed that the two have yet to meet.
In a conversation on the podcast Happy, Sad, Confused, Centineo explained the circumstances that have kept them apart. “Not directly, no, not yet,” he said when asked about meeting Stallone. The young actor detailed how his filming schedule took him to Australia before production, then to Thailand for shooting, back to Australia for another project, and finally home for a brief family vacation. “Now that I’m here… he lives in Florida, I believe, so I want to go and spend some time with him and talk to him,” Centineo added.
Stallone’s Absence During Production
These comments suggest that Stallone did not appear on set during the filming of John Rambo, which took place in Thailand from January through March. While his involvement as an executive producer is confirmed, his participation in any post-production activities or cameo appearances remains unreported.
The film’s direction falls to Jalmari Helander, known for his work on Sisu. Centineo praised Helander’s efforts, describing the footage shot so far as “extraordinary” and capturing the vision he had imagined for this origin story.
